Imagine you’ve just left the grocery market and are headed home. You take your normal short cut through the alley. It doesn’t matter that it’s night, you’ve been going this way since forever.
But of course tonight there HAS to be a gang waiting for you and they just HAVE to give you a tough time. You hope they just call and shout but OF COURSE NOT! They have to get physical. One of the boys has you up against a wall and the others are closing in.
“Such pretty lips. They’d would be better swollen though.” The leader sneers. “So would your eye.” You threaten. “Bitch you think you could get a punch in on me?!” He laughs. “I can try.” You say. “Let’s see that spunk in action.” One of the boys say. The leader is way too strong and you know it. So you don’t even try to fight. You close your eyes and hope nothing too bad happens.
Just as the you feel the leader’s breath on your face, you hear a motorcycle’s engine roaring the down the alley. “WHAT ARE YOU UP TO?!” You hear a deep voice yell. “Don’t bug us. It’s none of your business.” They yell. “Don’t bother that girl.” The motorcycle man says. “And you’re going to stop us?” They laugh. You hear people yelling. Then you open your eyes and all the boys have backed away from you. They’re standing up against the wall, wincing. You notice the leader’s eye is swelling up.
You look at the guy on the motorcycle. “Get on.” He says. “But-” “Just do it!” He demands, annoyed. You jump on and he drives out of the alley. For the rest of the ride you’re completely intoxicated in the moment. As you near the end, he asks for directions to your home and you direct him. He lets you off outside your building. You thank him and get off the motorcycle.
You start to walk towards the door when he grabs your hand. “I’d like to see you again, if that’s alright with you.” He says, taking off his helmet for the first time that night. You finally see his face, and he’s like a prince. “Oh, I’d love to see you.” You say. “I’ll make sure we see each other again, but now I have to leave.” He says. You feel a pain in your heart and that’s when you know, you’ve fallen in love.
“Do not forget me.” You say, handing him your lucky necklace. He picks you up and twirls you around. He sets you on the ground and takes off his ring. “Oh, I’ll never forget you. Never.” He says sliding it on your finger. “Never never.” You whisper to yourself. He gives you a quick peck on the cheek and jumps on his motorcycle.
“I know you’ll come again.”
